Corporate Philanthropy

Objective

The overall objective of Glass Obelisk’s community minded approach to business is to establish and enhance our reputation as a good corporate citizen by assisting the development of community focused groups and organisations.

Community Minded Approach to Business

Since our launch in 2005, Glass Obelisk has maintained a continuing objective to help and further the development of community minded initiatives and organisations. As the Glass Obelisk name and presence has grown, so too has our emphasis on a community minded approach to the way we conduct our business. From our humble beginnings with our first not for profit client, Glass Obelisk is now proud to provide services to a range of not for profit and community organisations.

Glass Obelisk supports a diverse range of community minded organisations providing services and development projects to organisations free of charge or at substantially discounted rates. We are proud to support a range community groups, from national and state wide organisations, such as the Leukaemia Foundation and Epilepsy Queensland; through to community support groups, such as Self Help Queensland and Spring Board Inc.

Since 2005, Glass Obelisk has maintained a close relationship with Epilepsy Queensland, providing a majority of services and web development projects on a pro bono basis. Since beginning our work with Epilepsy Queensland, Glass Obelisk has provided several redevelopments of the organisation’s website, as well as the development of their TechnologyOne Website Competition and World of Trivia websites. In 2006, Glass Obelisk was proud to become a sponsor of the TechnologyOne Webdesign Competition for high school students.

Glass Obelisk has recently begun design projects with new and promising community organisations, including Fitted for Work Queensland and Youth without Borders.

The G.O. Community Project

In early 2008, Glass Obelisk launched the Get Online Community Project. The project is aimed at community minded groups and not for profit organisations, who wish to establish their own web presence and help further the development and growth of their organisation.
